I understand that Ventura Yoga Studio is here to serve me by sharing knowledge of yoga and health. I agree to take full responsibility for not exceeding my personal physical limits in the practice of yoga and fitness classes. I take full responsibility to ascertain that there is no medical reason to prevent my participation. I waive any claim that I may have at any time for injury of any sort against Ventura Yoga Studio, Jeneth Rundle, its leaseholder, instructors, or any person or entity in any way involved herewith. I grant permission for the use of my likeness in photographs, video or other digital media in any and all of its publications, including web-based publication, without payment or other consideration. This release waives the provisions of the California Civil Code, Section 1542 which provides: “A general release does not extend to claims which the creditor does not know exist in his favor at the time of executing the release, which if known to him, must have materially affected his settlement with the debtor.”

Safe restorative and active Iyengar Yoga techniques for relieving shoulder and neck pain, tension, and instability..

The shoulders are the most mobile yet vulnerable joints in one’s body. Besides the lifestyle of computer or cellphone use and driving, gravity pulls the arms downward, away from the body, which destabilizes and weakens the shoulders.

 

This specialized Iyengar Yoga Workshop will strengthen muscles that will provide stability for the shoulder girdle, move toward greater mobility and improvement of that hunched over posture, and relieve neck and shoulder pain and tightness.

The Knee/Neck Connection

The knees are sturdy and carry us through life. 

The neck helps the head shift and change perspectives as needed. 

Both give us the mobility and freedom to live our lives, and both are susceptible to injury and wear and tear. 

B.K.S. Iyengar often said that “Unless and until the knees straighten nothing can come.” By attending to the health of the knees, the spine in general, and the neck specifically improve. In this workshop Anna will lead you towards a greater understanding of the interconnections of these two remarkable areas in your body and to use your asana practice to create greater ease for both.  All students are welcome to attend!

Sciatica!  Workshop Recording Available!

Safe restorative and active Iyengar Yoga techniques for the relief of Sciatic pain, often felt in the buttocks and down one or both legs.

The sciatic nerves are the largest and longest nerves of ones body and move from the lumbar, through the buttocks, down the back of each leg to the feet and toes.

 

This specialized Iyengar Yoga Workshop will extend and align the muscles of the lumbar and sacroiliac regions to help relieve the symptoms associated with sciatica and some lower back pain.
