Founded in 1990, Ventura Yoga Studio is the oldest and most respected studio in the area. The teachers are exceptionally well trained and teach from the heart. Classes range from quietly restorative to challenging and vigorous.

BKS Iyengar with the Dalai Lama

Considered to be one of the best equipped studios in the country, we provide all of the necessary props such as blankets, belts, blocks, chairs, bolsters and wall ropes. Every wall in the studio is outfitted with the Great Yoga Wall system. The use of these props allows for students to gain safe and productive access to poses.

When appropriate, our classes include inversions, such as Sirsasana (headstand) and Salamba Sarvangasana (shoulder stand), with many variations offered to accomplish them safely. We also offer training in Pranayama, the breath work. Please check the schedule to confirm days and class times.

Strength, endurance and flexibility increase along with a sense of inner peace and calm. This practice is more than physical. Guided by the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, this style of yoga provides access through the body and breath to the inner, subtle layers of consciousness, offering each of us a taste of true freedom.

In addition to our regular active pose classes (often referred to as Hatha Yoga) Ventura Yoga Studio offers specialty classes as well, including Restorative Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Prenatal Yoga and Wall Yoga.

Throughout the year we offer all yoga students and teachers (Continuing Education for both 200 & 500 RYT's) workshops and intensives taught by renowned Teachers.

From raw beginners to advanced practitioners, we offer the opportunity for study and the development of a richer, deeper yoga practice.

Jeneth with T'ai Chi Chih®

Originator, Justin Stone

Come and feel the Chi!

This moving meditation, also known as Joy thru Movement, is a form of Qigong/ChiKung, originated by T'ai Chi Chuan and Zen Master Justin Stone.

Not a martial art, this peaceful, gentle practice consists of 19 standalone movements and 1 pose. T'ai Chi Chih is easy to do and easy to learn by young and old alike.

No particular level of fitness is required, and the practice can be modified for those with physical challenges. It can even be done seated in a chair! This practice brings strength, balance, energy and serenity.

T'ai Chi Chih® is taught only by accredited teachers and can usually be learned in 8-10 classes. There have been numerous studies from reputable researchers (UCLA & University of Wisconsin) regarding the benefits of T'ai Chi Chih®. For more information about the practice and these benefits visit taichichih.org. For more information regarding classes available in Ventura County visit their Facebook page: facebook.com/taichichihventuracountyca.
