We have some of the most highly trained yoga teachers in Ventura County!
Director of Ventura Yoga Studio, Jeneth is...
...a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, an E-RYT 500 and YACEP (continuing education provider) with the Yoga Alliance and is Accredited to teach and train teachers in both T’ai Chi Chih® and its advanced form, Seijaku®. It has been her great fortune in life to have studied Yoga directly under B.K.S., Geeta and Prashant Iyengar, and T’ai Chi Chih® with Justin Stone (Originator of T’ai Chi Chih® & Seijaku®) and Carmen Brocklehurst of Albuquerque. Jeneth moved to the Ventura area in 2001 and began to teach at VYS. In 2013 she bought the studio from Bryan Legere, its original founder. It is her mission to continue to create the opportunity for individuals to learn, practice and teach these practices. Ventura Yoga Studio is the means.
Anna is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher...
...She began her yoga study in the early 1970s and teacher training in Hatha yoga and Asthanga yoga in 1994. She began teaching in 1995. Since then she has been a student of the Iyengar yoga system, including Iyengar teacher training and therapy workshops.
The improvement of her health and asthma drew Anna to her yoga practice which gives her internal quiet and external strength. Teaching yoga to others is one of her greatest joys in life. Anna encourages her students to “Live Better in Your Body.” Focused on Anatomy, Biochemistry, and Nutrition, Anna has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology.
Anthony has been a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher since 2017...
...He has been under the mentorship of Christine Stein and Scott Hobbs who are also in the Ventura Yoga Studio family. Anthony was introduced to Iyengar Yoga in 2006 with Bryan Legere. He completed his teacher training with Audrey Waltzer at Camarillo Yoga Center.
Anthony began his journey in yoga after undergoing spinal fusion after many years of pain and discomfort with severe scoliosis. Yoga has allowed him to remain pain free and retain strength and flexibility after surgery. He has learned how to be more in tune with his body and recognize the effects of everyday life.
Anthony believes that everybody can do and benefit from yoga, it is not only for flexible people.
Anthony also enjoys playing symphonic music with the Ventura College Symphony, currently the principal clarinetist.
He also is a practicing pharmacist and believes that yoga can also be used as medicine for body and soul.
Terry began her journey into yoga in 1999...
...after suddenly going deaf in one ear. She continues to use her practice to help her slow down, listen to her body, and find balance in life. A yoga instructor since 2005, she provides a safe, inviting, compassionate environment (mixed in with a sense of humor!), which allows her students to gain a sharpening of awareness that strengthens them physically, intellectually, and emotionally.
Terry enjoys sharing what she’s learned with her students so they can experience an increase in vitality, be challenged, and yet become quiet and centered. Terry also teaches yoga to the elementary and junior high school students she tutors after school and finds that the yoga keeps them active and focused (and it’s fun)!

She is dedicated in her own yoga practice by continuing to take workshops and teacher trainings with Certified Iyengar teachers including Chris Stein, Marla Apt & Ann Delury.
